Bail Applications

Detaining a person should be the last resort. The general presumption is to grant temporary release wherever possible however there will be occasions when the Home Office would not consider temporary release appropriate.

It is then our duty to assess the situation and determine whether a bail application is suitable.

The first thing we would ascertain is whether removal is imminent. This is why if you, or someone you know, is in detention, you should contact us immediately. The more time we have, the more likely we will be able to help.

Detention should be for the shortest possible time, if any longer than necessary, it could be breaching fundamental human rights. Contact us immediately if you require help with a bail application.
