Safiya initially began her career with SKR Legal Solicitors as a Caseworker in 2013, where she assisted senior solicitors on immigration cases. After graduating in LLB Law, Safiya went on to complete her Legal Practice Course at De Montfort University before commencing her training contract with SKR Legal.
Safiya is currently a trainee solicitor and she is doing her second seat in the Criminal Litigation Department. By working alongside with seniors solicitors of the firm, she is able provide client care and able to assist on criminal matters ranging from basic matters to complex matters. She has experience in dealing with road traffic offences assault offences, sexual offences and drug related offences. She manages files for these matters, attends clients and contacts Police stations and courts as required by each case.
At present Safiya is in the process of obtaining her police station accreditation. This requires her to be supervised and fully trained on how to advice clients and represents them when they are under investigation by the police.
In addition, Safiya also assists the Immigration Department in dealing with their cases. This includes applications and appeal preparation. Her third and fourth training seat will in Family and Personal Injury law.
